Subtly sweet, and full of flavor, these chocolate cherry sunflower bites come together in a snap with the help of a food processor and a quick chill in the refrigerator.
Chocolate pairs well with so many things, with cherries being one of them. These bites are a simple, quick snack that also satisfies those random sweet cravings without refined sugar. The added sunflower kernels are a good source of vitamin E, zinc, and magnesium, giving the bites a little nutritional boost.
Ingredients Needed to Make Chocolate Cherry Sunflower bites
Cocoa Powder
Coconut Oil
Sea Salt
Vanilla Extract
Sunflower Kernels
Dried Cherries
Maple Syrup
Chocolate Cherry Sunflower Bites

Ingredients
- 1 tablespoons (6g) cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoons coconut oil
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon (15ml) maple syrup
- 3/4 cup (90g) unsalted sunflower kernels
- 1 cup (160g) dried cherries
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Line a small sized container or bowl with parchment paper and set aside.
- Place ingredients in the order of cocoa powder, coconut oil, salt, maple syrup, and sunflower kernels in a food processor or high speed blender and pulse until well combined.
- Add in dried cherries and vanilla extract and blend until the mixture begins to pull away from the sides of the bowl of the food processor and forms a ball.
- Scoop out some of the mixture and, using the palms of your hands, roll the bite mixture into about six to eight balls depending on size and place in parchment lined container.
- Place in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour to firm up. And enjoy!
